In January 2014, Carol Grzych traveled to Bayreuth, Germany with the Technology and Management Program at the University of Illinois to compete in an International Business Plan Competition. The event was hosted by the University of Bayreuth and was attended by students from around the globe. Out of the eight teams that competed, Carol’s team won 2nd place overall! Opportunities such as these are one of the many ways scholars use their enrichment funding provided by The Stamps Family Charitable Foundation.
“It was a phenomenal experience to get to work and travel with students from the four corners of the world. Even more, four of the largest world economies were represented! The mix of cultures was very evident at times when working together, but each person left learning something, whether that be about the technology, about business models or the people around them. It was a beautiful experience, and I have every intention of continuing to grow as an international leader through experiences such as these!”
