David Boretti is a Class of 2015 student at Elizabethtown College. Born in Garmisch, Germany, he came to Elizabethtown from Crofton, MD and attended high school at Archbishop Spalding.
“In high school at Archbishop Spalding, I was a varsity soccer captain, and also started on the varsity baseball team and was a key member of the varsity track team. My club team for soccer won the state championship my senior year. I also did about one hundred hours of community service at my church and in my local community. At Elizabethtown as an engineering freshman, I am on the soccer team and also am in the honors program. I have also joined a leadership program, Called to Lead, that combines leadership skills with community serving and learning. I also am involved in a small service project with my First Year Seminar Class to help out with refugees from other countries. Through the Stamps Scholarship, my fellow recipients at Elizabethtown and I have a chance to blaze a trail for everyone that will follow us in the program at this school. We have been blessed with countless opportunities and chances to learn both inside and outside of the classroom and to pursue our life goals while also helping others and impacting other people’s lives."
Tamara Eichelberger
“At my high school, I participated in a variety of clubs, such as Student Forum and Mu Alpha Theta, and I also held positions in NHS and Model UN. Since I’ve come to Elizabethtown, I’ve joined Faith in Action (a Christian volunteer group), become a representative of my First Year Seminar group in the Honors Council, and started learning a form of karate. As for hobbies, I love to read and play piano. The Stamps Scholarship has opened up many new opportunities for me. Not only am I traveling to the National Collegiate Honors Council Conference in Phoenix this year, but I also plan on using the endowment fund to travel to Germany for a semester. I am planning to work hard towards my education and to expand my knowledge of the world so that one day I can become a global citizen and help connect others together to make the world a better place.”
Amy Wagner, class of 2015, hails from Conestoga, Pennsylvania.
“In high school, I was active in marching band (in which I was flute section leader), Serteen Club (a service-oriented organization), National Honors Society, and pit orchestra. At Elizabethtown College, I am currently pursuing a major in biochemistry and have joined Faith in Action, Chemistry Club, Biology Club, and Called to Lead. I plan to study abroad in New Zealand, so the Stamps enrichment fund could help with those expenses, or it may aid me in finding research opportunities in the form of summer research or an internship in the future. I am excited that I will get to meet many other driven and intelligent students through the Stamps scholarship program.”
